Summary of work to provide some lasting benefit for the GM community whilst lessening the impact of HS2

Please find below a summary of HS2 works on landscaping, traffic and safety improvements, which you may find useful.  It covers the forthcoming works in the Link Road and Buryfield area of Great Missenden starting on the 20th July carried out by Fusion, on behalf of HS2.

  • Landscaping
    • Increase the biodiversity using native materials to improve the environment working with local organisations
    • Mixed hedge in-filling along the Link Road
    • New mixed native hedge planting by the skate park to screen off the A413
    • ‘Save our Trees’, saved 8 trees, apart from possibly one small one which could be replaced
    • Gained 9 new semi-mature trees planted to screen off the view of the haul road
  • Traffic
    • Widening (now shorter in length) of the Link Road by up to 1.7m and part of the A413 going north
    • On-street parking lost on the Link Road is being replaced by the Parish Council by extending the Buryfield car park
  • Safety
    • Widening the entrance to the Buryfield car park and building a footway
    • Temporary safety bollards installed in front of the skate park
