Volunteers are sought to help with an autumn clear-up of Sheepwash Pond on Honor End Lane, Prestwood, HP16 9QZ.
This important historic site within Prestwood is an ancient pond, at one time the largest of several on the old Prestwood Commons. Sitting alongside an old drover’s road, it was used as a watering place for animals on their way to market.
Prestwood Community Association is organising an ‘Autumn Clear-up’. Initially a group of volunteers will make a start on the clear up from 08:30 on Saturday 22 November.
Local resident and chair of the PCA, Karen Pither is leading the group. If you have time and appropriate skills, and want to know more, you can contact her on: info@prestwoodcommunity.uk
Or just turn up please. Wear appropriate clothing, preferably including stout boots and bring your own gloves, secateurs and other tools you feel might help please.
We hope this can be the first small step in restoring the site to a well-loved nature site and local amenity.
